Today, once again, was the beginning of a new school year. My daughter of seven years couldn’t wait to start her second year of school! This morning there were no effort getting her out of bed and she even made her own lunch, something that has never happened before! She was ready to go back to school to embark on a new season of learning…
This made me think of a Scripture that I recently read in the Message:
Colossians 2:6(MSG)
6-7My counsel for you is simple and straightforward: Just go ahead with what you've been given. You received Christ Jesus, the Master; now live him. You're deeply rooted in him. You're well constructed upon him. You know your way around the faith. Now do what you've been taught. School's out; quit studying the subject and start living it! And let your living spill over into thanksgiving.
Most of us have been “studying” the Subject of our faith for a very long time! But unfortunately that is where we stop. We have the theory, but have an in-ability to apply this in our daily life.
This Scripture is very straight forward – start living what you’ve learned!
Somebody made the following comment: If you were actually “convicted” of being a Christian, would they get enough evidence against you?
As Christians our lives need to show that we are following Christ – we need to talk and walk differently!
If you struggle – God might just send you back to school!
Shalom!
Anina
