God’s desire is to live in each and every person’s heart. Yesterday we saw that God will keep on knocking on the door of a person’s heart until it stops beating.
But what happens when the knocking stops and that person did not open his heart to the Lord?
Luke 13:25(NLT)
When the master of the house has locked the door, it will be too late. You will stand outside knocking and pleading, 'Lord, open the door for us!' But He will reply, 'I don't know you or where you come from.'
The people who did not open the door of their heart to God in this lifetime, will in eternity stand outside. Ironically enough, they will now do the knocking, longing to enter into the Kingdom of heaven. But the door will be locked. God will not open the door, because He does not know that person!
The Message translates the same verse as:
Well, one day you're going to be banging on the door, wanting to get in, but you'll find the door locked and the Master saying, 'Sorry, you're not on my guest list.'
God’s guest list is the Book of Life. He knocks on your door to make sure that your name is written in the Book of Life. While He is knocking you can open the door and get your name on His guest list!
But when He stopped knocking, you can even bang on the door, the door will stay locked!
Shalom!
